Hello Marquette!
Hi and welcome to the Carrotmob blog for Marquette. My name is Jeff and I am one of the primary people in Marquette who will be making a big push throughout the community to begin hosting Carrotmob events and maybe change the way business here sees their responsibility to the community and environment.
In case you don’t know to much about Carrotmob let me give you some things to look over like our about page and FAQs. The whole point of carrot mob is to promote positive change in business practices by rewarding the companies that make the biggest commitment. Money, it’s what business understands and it’s the most important thing in this process is harnessing the consumer dollars used in Marquette to drive change to happen. You don’t need to make extra donations to some non profit or walk 20 miles to raise money, all you need to do is buy the things you already do but buy them as a group when we organize a carrot mob to reward a business in the area that gives us a change we want. Here is a video to give you a better idea:
Carrotmob Makes It Rain from carrotmob on Vimeo.
- positivity…carrots, not sticks…
- understand both the business and the consumer in order to have a successful event.
- transparency is key.
So now that you’ve got the idea here is some more information on where we are right now. Now that our blog is up and running I am talking with leaders in the community to round up people to be a part of Carrotmob so that we have a lot of consumers in the area to help us drive some real change. If you are interested in helping or becoming part of Carrotmob then please subscribe to this blog so you can stay up to date on how things are going. We can always use extra help also so if you are interested in helping with the project drop me an email at jefferykitson@gmail.com with the subject as Carrotmob.
Soon we will be talking with business in the area and begin the process of having them out-bid for our attention! When that step is complete is when we will be able to use our spending dollars to promote positive change.
